'THE
VIBRATION FACTORY'
The music you hear is music with a
warm history. During the years 1987 - 1992,
I lived in the center of
Amsterdam where I had the oppertunity to organise musicsessions based
on african and reggaemusic and made it possible for african bands to
rehearse. This place, 'The Vibration Factory' became a meeting and
mixing point of african musicians, their bands and youth from
Amsterdam. A rich and creative period for myself and I'm still
greatfull to all the african musicians from Ghana, Gambia,
South-Africa, Senegal, Ethiopie, the Caraibien, Surinam, Aruba, Jamaica, West Guinee
and so on who shared their
musical skills with our youth. This project was part of the
'Leefwerkschool' (live & work & learn) and my aim was stimulating the musical potention of the young and older kids by the African drum.
It's 2006 by now and I'm happy to share this story through internet. You hear music from one of this Vibration Factory Afro-reggae sessions.
'Pain & Luck' with the leading voice of the beautifull 'Kloetje' from Ghana. I do wonder where everyone is living their lifes now.
For example Papis Rootsman, Dawda and Chakas A Rahman , a wonderfull trio from Gambia who formed the Chossan Roots Band based in Paris.
